To acknowledge your feelings, you must be mindful. We have two types of thoughts: conscious and unconscious.

When we bring mindfulness into our lives, we begin to have more conscious thinking. We are aware of what we are feeling and thinking unconsciously and then can choose what we want to believe.

As an adult you are solely responsible for yourself. Your boss, your parents, your partner, or your children are not responsible for how you feel. It is also not their job to make you feel better. While of course our friends and family are a great support system the bulk of our good feelings must come from ourselves.

That means that your job every day is to make sure you know how you feel, what you are thinking and what you need. You are now an adult, but you are still responsible for taking care of your inner child, who holds all the insecurities, wounds, and fears you have inside.

To take care of that part of yourself you must acknowledge how that child feels & soothe when needed (hands on chest, rub arms) on own rather then looking for outside things People places things to fill void.
